Dr. Mark Da Re

Dr. Da Re graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1985. He has been practicing since 1990 right here in Santa Barbara. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, and the Santa Barbara/Ventura County Dental Society where he served on the Peer Review Committee. Dr. Da Re is also specially trained to perform all forms of Conscious Sedation.

He previously served as an attending dentist at the UCSB Student Health Center for several years before serving as Chief Dentist. He has also served on the Professional Education Committee of the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Da Re is active in the Santa Barbara Interdisciplinary Esthetic Dental Network; a group of 12 dentists and specialists dedicated to sharing knowledge and co-treatment planning of complex cosmetic dental cases. He is a member of the Santa Barbara Dental Study Club and the local Spear Dental Education Group. His special interests include all aspects of cosmetic dentistry as well as implant restorations and crown and bridge prosthodontics.

Dr. Da Re is married to wife, Susie, and has two young twin daughters, Gianna and Isabella. In his leisure time Dr. Da Re enjoys travel, golf, scuba diving, food and wine, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Sarah Aylard

Dr. Aylard is now seeing patients in our practice for the diagnosis and treatment of Orofacial Pain and Temporal Mandibular Disorders.

Dr. Aylard graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1985 and completed a General Practice Residency program at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center. She is an Accredited Member in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AAACD), a Diplomate in the American Board of Orofacial Pain, a Fellow in the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Academy of Orofacial Pain, The American Board of Orofacial Pain, The American Headache Society, and the Headache Cooperative of the Pacific. Dr. Aylard has maintained a position as a clinical instructor in OFP, TMD and Sleep in the Department of Oral Medicine at the UCLA School of Dentistry.

She previously ran a successful private practice in Napa, CA that focused on comprehensive esthetic dental treatment. She specializes in treating orofacial pain and temporal mandibular disorders. She can help with TMJ disorders, snoring and sleep apnea, neuropathic orofacial pain, and toothaches of non-dental origin, to name a few. She is certified in oral conscious sedation.

After 30 years in Napa, Dr. Aylard and her husband, a pediatric dentist, returned south to be closer to family. She enjoys cooking, hiking, running, and surfing.

Dr. Wassan Raphael

Dr. Raphael graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She has been practicing for almost 20 years with nearly a decade of experience abroad.

Dr. Raphael knew she wanted to be a dentist at a very young age and is very passionate about cosmetic dentistry. She makes it her goal every day to treat patients as a family, ensuring that they feel comfortable by listening to their concerns and providing pain-free dental care. Seeing a patient’s confidence and smile restored is her greatest reward.

When she is not working, Dr. Raphael enjoys spending quality time with her husband and child, she also enjoys biking, hiking and cooking food from different cuisines.

Dr. Jay Um

Dr. Jay earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with Honors in Esthetic Dentistry from the NYU College of Dentistry. He is a seasoned dentist with rich experience in wisdom teeth removal, IV sedation, advanced therapies for surgical procedures, and pinhole periodontal surgery. He is a member of The American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is an Implant Diplomate certified by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
